Explanation:cThe President and Congress often seem to be working at cross-purposes in foreign policy. To give just a few recent examples: - The administration requests funding of the United Nations, and Congress links the funding to an anti-abortion provision it knows the President will veto. This kind of tug-of-war between the President and Congress is not necessarily bad. Foreign policy disagreements between the branches are inevitable, and even, sometimes, constructive. Debate and tension can lead to useful refinements and improvements of our policies.
American foreign policy always has more force to it when the President and Congress speak with one voice. Congress is our most representative branch of government. It best articulates the concerns of different segments of the population. When the President takes these views into consideration in formulating foreign policy, the policy that results is more likely to have strong public support. And foreign policy with strong domestic support makes the U.S. more respected and effective The President is the chief of U.S. foreign policy, and therefore he has the primary responsibility. In addition, the President can propose foreign policy legislation to Congress and can make policy statements that outline key goals of the Administration. The executive branch is the only branch of government that has the power to implement foreign policy, which gives the President another advantage that Congress does not have. Even when Congress has passed foreign-policy legislation, the President sometimes interprets it on his own, and can implement the policy however he wishes. Yet every administration has consulted inadequately on major foreign policy issues. Congress can also influence foreign policy. It can create (or threaten to create) foreign policy legislation that can alter the way the President must pursue a policy. It can generate ideas by passing resolutions that declare Congress' stand on foreign policy issues. These resolutions have no official standing, but they do make Congress' views known. Congress also has the power of oversight. All policies implemented by the President are subject to investigations and hearings by Congress. Consultation with Congress provides the President with a wider range of view than he may receive from his own advisers. The President is isolated in our system of government. No one, as George Reedy once said, “tells the President to go soak his head”. Cabinet officials and other high-ranking advisers serve at his pleasure. Their jobs depend on his favor, and they usually can decipher the direction in which the President wants to go. Members of Congress do not serve at the President's favor. Their independence from the President gives their advice added weight. The President may not like, or take, the advice of Congress, but his consideration of it is likely to produce better policies.

Answer:
c. Sent many Japanese abroad to be educated in the ways of the west and adopted many western reforms in political and military organization.
Explanation:
The Meiji Reformation was a time in the history of Japan that brought the biggest change in the nation's political as well as military scene. This period of change made Japan into a modern nation-state.
This period began in 1868 after the emperor adopted the Charter Oath that gave him the power to make changes to the nation. Japan had seen and observed that the most powerful nation, China, had been defeated by the Western powers. And so, Japan decided that it must try to be the same as western nations if she is to be safe from any attacks. This was what primarily led to the Meiji Restoration.
Japan then began welcoming western technology and merchants into the nation. The scholars and government began adopting western methods, including the many reforms regarding the military as well as political spheres. According to Japan, the only way to defeat western power is to be like them, equal to them in every form.

The Battle of Greasy Grass, also known as the Battle of Little Bighorn, occurred in 1876 in Montana. It was a clash between the U.S. Army's 7th Cavalry Regiment and a coalition of Native American tribes, including the Sioux, Cheyenne, and Arapaho, led by Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse.

Frederick Douglass tried to convince people not only of the wrongfulness of slavery, but also to make abolition more acceptable to Northern whites in "What to the Slave Is the Fourth of July?" Douglass condemned the moral contradictions of the American founding, stating that the principles of freedom and liberty that the nation celebrated on the Fourth of July were hollow for millions of enslaved people.
His speech called attention to the fact that for enslaved individuals, the Fourth of July was not a day of celebration but one of mourning. Douglass attempted to inspire Northern whites to think critically about their own involvement in American slavery by challenging their assumptions and beliefs. Douglass's speech, which was given in 1852, was a critical moment in the fight against slavery.

Explanation:
how did the civil war test the foundation of a country that uses democracy?
The correct answer to this open question is the following.
Although there are no options attached we can say the following.
The civil war tested the foundation of a country that uses democracy in that the civil war confronts people from the same country on the battlefield for political and economic reasons.
It is hard to believe that people from the same nationality -brothers we could say in a metaphorical way- confront each other to the extreme of seceding from the Union and fight using weapons. A civil war is an internal battle that hurts democracy and the legitimacy of the government that the founding fathers so carefully planned for the United States since colonial American times.
A civil war separates, divides. As President Abraham Lincoln said in his famous speech "A House divided," if a country is divided from within, this not only hurts democracy and freedom but also impacts all aspects and foundations of a nation.

given the history of rome, the world’s first major republic, what is the consequence of having a "feeble" (or weak) executive?
The consequence of having a "feeble" or weak executive in a major republic like ancient Rome can have several implications. It's important to note that the Roman Republic had a complex system of checks and balances with multiple branches of government, including the executive, legislative, and judicial branches.
Ineffectiveness in Decision-Making: A feeble executive may struggle to make timely and decisive decisions. This can lead to delays in governance, especially during times of crisis or when urgent action is required. It can impede the implementation of policies, hinder effective administration, and result in a lack of direction.Instability and Political Gridlock: A weak executive can contribute to political gridlock and instability within the republic. Without a strong leader to provide leadership and stability, different factions or interest groups may vie for power, leading to internal conflicts and an inability to reach consensus on critical matters.Vulnerability to External Threats: A feeble executive can weaken a republic's ability to defend itself against external threats. In times of war or conflicts, a lack of unified leadership and decisive action can compromise military strategies, jeopardize national security, and undermine the defense capabilities of the republic.Erosion of Governance and Rule of Law: A weak executive can undermine the rule of law and governance. The executive branch plays a crucial role in enforcing laws, maintaining order, and upholding the principles and values of the republic. Without a strong executive, law enforcement and governance mechanisms may be compromised, leading to a decline in stability and social cohesion.Potential for Corruption and Abuse of Power: A feeble executive can create an environment conducive to corruption and abuse of power. When there is a lack of strong leadership and oversight, there may be opportunities for individuals within the government to exploit their positions for personal gain, leading to nepotism, favoritism, and a lack of accountability. The Roman Republic itself experienced periods of both strong and weak executive leadership, and these dynamics played a role in shaping the course of Roman history.
